Ludisia (Haemeria) discolor questions

Hello all. I bought one a few weeks ago. Some of the leaves went from their dark green color to a pinkish color. I water it when it gets dry and it is next to (not directly under) 2x13w AHsupply CF lights (1 bulb 6700k and the other 5500K). What is the proper care for this plant? When I bought this plant it was outside in a shaded greenhouse in North Florida. Could bringing it in have caused this (new temps, humidity, light etc)? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Did you repot it when you brought it home? Sometimes they can take a little while to get adjusted to being re potted.

The light sounds good. They don't need much at all. Could you post a picture maybe? How big is it? Sometimes when they go into flower they will lose some leaves but nothing drastic. You'll know it's a flower spike because it will be hairy. I've got two in flower right now.

I was going to say it sounded like too much light until you described your conditions. Andy's right, they seem to do better under very low light. It could be just an adjustment period. Mine flower for me in the winter, normally in response to reduced water, but I guess anything is possible.

Thanks for the replies. I did not repot it. I usually wait a little bit first. It was blooming when I got it. Had about 5 blooming spikes. It is about 10 inches tall not counting the pot. I think that maybe it was the amount of water. Should I keep it moist all the time or let it dry out between waterings? Also maybe I should mist it and put it above a tray of water. This would help bring the humidity up. Thanks again for the answers.

It takes a lot of energy out of a plant to flower. Every time my discolor flowers it will yellow a bit and maybe loose a leaf or two.

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it's the whole plant turning. Then, you might have a problem.

I have one right on my tv stand...so, no extra humidity concerns here. I water it at least every few days but that all depends on how big of a pot you have and what your soil consists of. Keep it moist and try not to let it dry out too much but also don't keep it soaked.

I agree with Andy. I don't make any special accommodations for humidity around this guy. I keep the medium pretty consistently moist. It's a terrestrial with no pseudobulbs so don't let it dry too much.

That would make sense. In fact when I got home yesterday I noticed that another of the plants in the pot just started to send a stem(?) for another flower. Thanks for all the help. Sounds like it should be fine.
