Default Chysis limminghei

I may be posting this under the wrong "alliance," so (moderators) please feel free to move it to a more appropriate location.

Chysis limminghei is flowering with eight mature pseudobulbs and five new growths that have initiated. The blooms are nicely fragrant, and their substance is very waxy and firm.

I would get one of these.
I like the waxy look of the flowers.

It is a beauty! I did move the thread to "Miscellaneous". It's in a group pretty much by itself.

It seems to be a kind of "tropical sea level dendrobium"

Really pretty and unusual, I particularly like the short, fat pseudobulbs!

Thanks, everyone, for your comments!

RJSquirrel. It will definitely drop its leaves pretty quickly if it gets anywhere below around 60 F. While most of my orchids are in the sunroom at this time of year, this one stays inside the master bathroom where the south-facing windows keep it bright and very warm, even in the winter.

Wonderful species. My limminghei and bractescens are just starting to throw out what should be buds. I like how your pbs are so erect and still holding on to leaves. Mine tend to hang over the pot but I've seen plants present either way and it's all good. Lets go Spring!
