Pterostylis curta 'Keun Hee' AM/AOS

Another pick up from Burnt Bridge Creek. An unusual genus that I figured it was time to check out.

A great species... I have had only a little success with other members of the genus, but Pterostylis curta propagates like crazy for me. Mine usually bloom around January into February, look pretty dead by March-April-ish. (Varies from year to year) Then I pretty much dry them out for a few months (maybe an occasional drink). Repot in mid-July or thereabouts. (If you don't repot, they tend to work their way to the bottom of the pot, and sprout out the holes). Put on your reading glasses.. the tiny tubers (B-B size) are just as likely to sprout as the big (marble size) ones. I use fresh mix each year, but save the previous year's mix because I inevitably miss a few. I start watering lightly the end of July or beginning of August, increase once I see sprouts. Have fun!

I grow them outside (night temps low 40's to high 30's F) So in GH, a relatively cool area is ideal.

Thanks for the tips! I have these outside right now, but it looks like next weekend is the end of our outdoor growing season. They'll winter in a cool basement under lights.
