Here are some pics of Pterostylis baptistii that i'm growing in flower. It is the autumn flowering race from South Eastern Queensland. Very easy to grow and interesting Pterostylis species. Has the largest flower of pterostylis.

peace

thanks. yes i like them because they are different to any other orchid. Not the most colourful or spectacular but very unique in the arrangement of the flower structures.

peace

Not sure how long flowers last, i'll let you know shortly. Growing conditions are outside in 50% shade. Watering twice a week when in active growth/flowering and occasional application of dilute miracle gro all purpose fertiliser to help things along. Well drained humus rich sandy soil that doesn't compact. Dry rest period when dormant. Also i live 27 degrees south of equator in the subtropics but this orchid is very adaptible being found all up the east coast of australia. I'm near the most northerly limit of the species.

Ah ok, that's a lovely part of the world.

I live just south of Melbourne so we have very different climates.

kavanaru, I can now answer your question and tell you how long the flowers last, this one flower at least. It lasted for 2 and 1/2 weeks in good condition.
