I was looking at my Cynorkis and Habenaria, noticing that they were late compared to the pics on social media, and saw that my Pterostylis curta has decided it's time.
We're just coming out of a heatwave, the room it's in has been consistently 80-90 with the ac going. Normal, or maybe got a draft?
I have had P. curta come out of dormancy as early as mid July. (I used to wait until August to repot until one year that I found sprouts well on their way) Start watering. These actually do have a relatively short dormancy.
I was told, by someone who definitely knows, that it would be OK to lightly water while they are dormant, and that I would get more tubers. I don't need more tubers... they multiply like rabbits anyway. But certainly, they won't be harmed by starting to water now. Which makes sense... these are riparian plants, so in nature they probably don't ever go completely dry.
