Calochilus campestris
Hi all,
This is Calochilus campestris - the bearded orchid. I took this photo last year on a bushwalk in the Royal National Park, Sydney. These Australian terrestrials are almost impossible to cultvate, owing to their symbiosis with mycorrhizal fungus in their habitat - thus they're there to admire, but should be left there. Enjoy!
Cheers,
Andrew.

You don't know that for sure... You may take a holiday here sometime...lol
I would actually be happy to show anyone from the board who came to Sydney on a native orchid tour in Spring. There are plenty to feast your eyes on!
The plant in the picture is of a colony of this species that I visit every year - just to make sure they're doing ok. In the same spot, at different times, you can see Dipodium punctatum, Caladenias of all descriptions, Thelymitras, Dockrillia linguiforme, Glossodia major, Cymbidium madidum - and more. It's the most beautiful show on earth!
