Ancistrochilus rothschildianus
This is an epiphyte from a wide area of central and western Africa. It is related to Calanthe and Spathoglottis. I grow it in the greenhouse, and it has been doing nicely. Based on the information about its range, it probably could be grown somewhat cooler. If I had another one I'd experiment with outdoor growing, but I"m not going to risk this one... I'll post additional pix when more of the flowers open.

Got it from Andy's Orchids. This is definitely a species that one has to ask for... not on the website. (I was at the nursery and still had to ask, would not have even begun to know where to look for it.)

Thanks. So far so good, it has survived for a year and rebloomed with 2 spikes (one last year that it came with) I hope that it continues to thrive. Those p-bulbs really are cute.
