I have found that all of my jewel orchids like very low light... they actually do better in the house, in an area that gets no direct light at all, than in the greenhouse where even in the shade it's brighter. (They are next to a Pothos that I have had for many years, that also thrives in a level of light that I would expect to be inadequate for anything)

Lol, orchids are my stress relief but now I am usually delegated to tending to them late at night (last night was out watering/checking on them at 11:00 PM) once my daughter is asleep.

Well I know what I was doing wrong back then. I was trying to grow it in pure soil since that what it was potted in when I received it. The only issue was I was keeping that soil way too wet so the roots were rotting. Added some material with fresh soil to create a more aerated mixture seemed to fix the trick.

I am considering trying it in the house now that it seems to have bounced back but then again, why mess with success.

Totally don't mess with success... what works for me may not work for you and vice versa! Of course, these plants do spread out, and root from cuttings. So, you could maybe try one in the house just for grins if you end up with an extra piece.
