Tall Jewel Orchid growth

Hello all...my jewel orchid (Goodyera pusilla)has grown quite tall and looks to be ready to bloom. After if blooms and the flower is spent, can I cut the top portion and root it, without killing the original plant? If so what do I need to do to get the top portion to root?

what did you end up doing?

I have no experience with these but they intrigue me - i would have done what you suggested - cut it after the bloom, dip it in some rooting compound and plant it
