Nice little plant.

By the way, thanks to changes in taxonomy (as you gain orchid experience, you will gain disdain for taxonomists like the rest of us), that is now correctly named Peaseara Chian-Tzy Lovely.

I have two of these: Lava Burst 'Puanai' and 'Pacific Sunrise'. They are adorable!

Nice! I have this one, as well as the standard red 'Lava Burst'. They're great little plants!

Seriously?? I'll make note of the change, but I'm not changing it on labels...

Not all of us have disdain for taxonomists. They actually make changes for scientifically valid reasons most of the time. There will always be new information that may generate new interpretations. The disdain should be reserved for RHS resisting any change in taxonomy for half a century or more, then switching to implementing change after change after change during a period of rapid development of scientific techniques, and getting involved in the personality politics of it all along the way. Registered hybrid names didn't need to go through that chaos even if taxonomy was changing rapidly.

You're probably right, PMM.

The problem for me is when a plant was "X", then "Y" or even "Z", then back to "X" again, because one person interprets stuff differently.

But if you think about it, at one time all orchids were "epidendrums".

My tags aren't changing, but I agree that as new evidence rolls in , that the species reclassifications are necessary for scientific accuracy. Unfortunately, that also affects the hybrids that derive from the species. And the changes may change as more information is obtained - it is the nature of science that we must go where the data take us. Easy solution... a good cross reference. I do love my Orchidwiz.
