Not an orchid but, it hard to believe that this plain green tillandsia can turn into a beautiful flower when it blooms.

A beautiful flower! I have several Tillandsia and have had them for years. I’ve never tried them in a terrarium setting though. They flower and pup and grow with minimal care.

I had a gorgeous wreath a few years ago with tillies mounted on it. The location along with very dry air in the winter caused most of these to die off. I may try another wreath sometime, it was very cool.

Their flowers are so amazing! Nice picture.

I have them at the very top of the terrarium, but they get misted every day when the rest of the terrarium is misted. They seem to enjoy the mist and high light.

I have a Tillandsia ionantha mexican ball I’ve been growing for several years. It was very small when I acquired it, maybe golf ball size. It flowers every year sometimes twice as the pups mature.

This flowering was this last April, the second picture is from tonight. It grows well hanging in a south kitchen window. I really enjoy this Tilly.
