Default Schoenorchis fragrans spike!

This little one was one of my first mini orchids, bought it last August from Andy. I was enchanted by the size and clusters of blooms. I grow this in a tiny, tall vase by itself in an east facing window. There are rocks in the bottom and a small amount of water, the plant is mounted on a stick. The vase is small and I have a Yankee candle top/lid that I use to help with humidity. I'm so excited to have it almost in bloom! Counting the days...

I am sooo jealous! I have two of the little ones myself and have been very patient awaiting ANY movement/growth/changes/etc., but they seem to be the tortoises of the orchids that I have - honestly, I have had them a couple of months and, well, let's say there is absolutely no difference between the "before" and "after" pics!
What a nice Spring gift! Thanks for sharing!

Lol, they are certainly not in any hurry. Mine has grown two leaves and is working on a third. I've had it for 7+months, pretty slow. I've honestly wondered if I needed to make a change in growing, it gets pretty good light and has a redish tint to the leaves. This spike has been very slow growing and I have no idea how much longer until it blooms. It did have an old bloom spike on it when I received it from Andy's. Without going back and looking at dates, I think the spike started at least a month ago. I look several times a day, I would really be upset to miss it! Be just my luck too.

That really is a cute little plant. It has been suggested for the spring project, I asked to have it taken off because of the slow growing. I may need to rethink it as it is so cute.

It is a cutie. I looked back at my photos and it was Feb. 17th when I noticed the spike just pushing out. If you look close you will see it along with the old dry spike the plant had when I bought it. The old spike has fallen off now. So it has been almost 2 months and the blooms have yet to open. No hurry on this little guy. I will add a pic when it opens.

A quick update, two flowers have opened and there are six buds to go. This little guy is in no hurry.
