Hi all!

I recently put together a display for my new mini orchids. I'm really loving it!

The background is tree bark cork panels, with preserved sheet moss to add a "natural patina" to it. The center is built up with various pieces of wood, to give the impression of a "tree". I have then incorporated the mounted minis into it.

The light is LED. It is a couple of light bars from Vitrea Aquariums. I had it left over from an aquarium that I took down. It is hooked to a controller, that can control Kelvin, intensity, duration, schedule, moon cycle, etc.

I am misting them 2-3 times a day. I am already seeing new foilage, as well as a couple of them starting to flower. I feel I am on the right track.

Thanks for taking the time to look, and If there are any other questions/concerns, Id be gald to answer/hear them.

Beautiful! Needs lots more orchids, though. This is a perfect setup for cattleyas, although they may need more light to bloom.

Thank you orchideya and AL Toronto.

I currently have 11. Being a newbie, I am unsure to how big they will get, or how prolific they may be. I have ordered the two volume set of Compendium of Mini Orchids, so I will be reading and learning alot in the near future.

Current list of orchids:

Bulbophyllum mirum X 2

Cirrhopetaium (Bulbophyllum) andersonii

Dendrobium lichenstratum

Dendrobium quadrangulare

Harsella odorate X 2

Leptotes bicolor

Platystele stenostachya

Pleurothallis diminuta

Trichoglottis smithii

All are from Andy's Orchids and were mounted on a variety of wood pieces.

Gorgeous! Your second photo looks as tho it was taken in a rain forest. Are you familiar with orchidkarma.com? A gal in Sweden grows great orchids and she has many displayed this way-check it out one and all!

Wow...Thank you everyone!

MrsSky- Thank you! I definitely plan on posting more pics...photography is another hobby/obsession/indulgence of mine. haha!

Paul Mc- Thank you! I also am hoping that I have created a setup that provides the plants with what they require to bloom.

Oscarman- Thank you! This hangs in a '"craft room" of sorts. It is a room for my wife and I to indulge our interests.

DeaC- Thank you! I have not heard of that site, but I will check it out. I am always looking for inspiration from others "creativity".

WhiteRabbit- Thank you!

More pics to come shortly...I added a Repti Fogger to the display yesterday, to try to provide the orchids with more humidity. It also looks really cool!

I'm excited, as my books should be here monday.
