No bulb.
I found a lamp, broke the lamp, and took out the socket and wire.
I fed the wire through the back vent and stuck the socket up in the top.

Inspiration is important. There's some really awe inspiring things on OB.

I'm waiting for this bud to open. Very impatiently.
It's the one I posted earlier in the thread.
Any day now.
And a new growth! Honestly the strangest orchid growth I've ever watched.

And.... tada!
My lepanthes telipogoniflora is spiking!

Though I'm now worried it's too wet.
This lava rock wicks moisture very very very well.

Very cool!

How long have these orchids been in your care? Are they new, and spiking that quickly, or responding to prolonged pampering?

Wink

You're certainly a great grower but the display is so unique. I'm getting into the minis -you give me hope!

I've had the haraella retrocall for five months. It's grown very nicely.

The other two are from the same vendor.
The lepanthopsis astrophora I've had for 3.5 months. 5 new growths and two spikes.
And the lepanthes telipogoniflora I've had for a month. One spike and also 5 new growths.

No pampering, aside from my cymbidiums literally the easiest orchids I own.
I turn on the light every day. And water once.... every week or two.

I stole this idea from two other members lol. Great inspiration everywhere here on OB.

Good luck with your minis!

I was sitting here on my bed, when I glanced over.
This is my main view of my lantern btw.

What was that?

The bud! It opened! I'm so excited. I actually shed a tear.

Despite its very tiny size, it has quite the impact from a distance.
I can't wait to see both spikes in bloom.
