what kind of miniature mosses do you use so that they don't dwarf the orchids? That doesn't look like sphagnum moss to me...

Amyzes this was that dry mos mix I did order from the web, so it must be a mixture of all different dry mosses and ferns together, I have no clue how many are there and what are the names, I did apply dry mix on emty hygrolon weeks prior to mounting, it took mounts to grow but now it is pretty and green.

Hey Tommy,
THis is amazing. Can you let us know how you built it. I have tons of Hygrolon that I bought from Folius when I made my last terrarium, but ended up not needing it for that. I've been wanting to do something like this, but lack imagination for setting it up.

Tindo, I got some PVC pipe in HD, than there are those half round slabs of the foamy material (usually used for insulation of the pipes I think), and hygrolon cloth is glued over ot, creating tall slab. Tube is sealed on the bottom and some of the hygrolon cloth is overlapping with strings going also inside to tube on the top. This way it wicks water from bottom of the vase and from top also.

So, do you fill the tube with water? How do you keep the water in the tube from spilling out? THanks.

Tindo tube is sealed on the bottom (again, home depot and that cup that you use when sealing pipes, plus glue), the water than stay in the tube and hygrolon strips wick the water from there.
