Pot huh, it looked for some reason like it was mounted. Yes I am probably nuts for trying the Masdevallias but I just love the little blooms.
Oh I must have missed the other pictures of it the first time. I just went back to look at it and saw the other ones. Wow that is one cool plant

The pot is completely covered by the plant and can hardly be seen. It's in a 2" plastic pot and a fine bark/charcoal mix.

I am very envious! You have wonderful blooms.....my plant just multiplied itself into specimen size yet never bloomed for me for the past two years....

Ron, I'm not around much these days either, but I logged in the other day looking for some of your great posts (like this one) and was disappointed to not see any. Glad to see you back and hope all is well. This plant, and all other you grow for that matter, is beautiful, and the photography is as well. I wish I had the conditions to grow most of your collection.
On another note, for those wondering about this species' warmth tolerance, I received a piece from a friend about a year ago, and I'm growing it in a terrarium in South Louisiana. Max summer highs this year were into the 90s (an accident...usually no more than 82-84) and winter lows currently dip into the 50s. I'm not with my plant at the moment to count, but there were at least 10 buds forming on a ~3x3" clump before I left for school this weekend. Contrary to what most say, this species is somewhat adaptable and a pleasure to grow. I say give it a try!

Thanks, friend. Nice to know that it can be grown in warmer conditions. I've found it very easy but have never grown it warm.
