This was originaly sold to me as Dendrobium rigidum but i think Dockrillia rigida is now the accepted name? yes? maybe?
either way this cute little guy just kinda sat in my tank and did nothing until i changed out the compact fluorescents i was using and replaced them with Ray's new LED bulbs, it promptly sent out 3 new growths, started this spike, started another 5 growths and roots exploded out of everywhere. i can't say enough good things about theses LEDs (although i may have just horribly confused all of my plants as to what season it is. but oh well)
sorry for the poor quality of the photos. i was using a crappy digital camera and the blooms are so small.

hahaha! TommyMiami the blooms are about the size of my pinky nail BUT that cluster of 6 is about the size of one of the leaves so in that respect i suppose in that respect they ARE big for the plant.... i only laugh because i showed it to a friend and they had NO idea why i was so excited about such tiny flowers....
pretty sure this one is going to turn into an ever blooming member of my collection. it has 2 more spikes blooming (well fading) and 2 more on the way! i'll have to get some pictures when those open up.
I love it!!! Looks like a Dendrobium to me, but I'm not the guy naming these plants.
How do you like the new lights? Do you see any differences in the amount of heat in your tank?

I LOVE these new lights. (caveat: it has only been a few months.) they are putting out way more light (i don't have a light meter so i can't tell you how much more) than the compact fluorescents i was using and way less heat. i am doing a not so scientific side-by-side comparison where i have only changed out one bulb for the new LED and the other one is still a 6500K compact fluorescent (the lid of my tank is an old aquarium lid). as soon as i put in the new LED everything on that side of the tank started growing, it's not clear from the pictures but this guy is sitting about 4-5 inches away from the light and is getting some purple freckles. if i hold my hands over where each bulb is in the lid i can feel the difference in the heat (not very scientific or precise i know, but it is noticeable.)
