Didn't know any other way of explaining this then to show you. I have both here in these pictures. My Dend. cuthbertsonii almost bloomed a couple of times this past summer but every time the buds got up just right the temp. would change dramatically and they would blast.

Thanks for the comparison - that's a perfect comparison for me. My cuthbertsonii still has new growths maturing, so I don't know when it will eventually flower... the good side is that there will be more canes for it to flower from - eventually.

I've been told that they can flower at any time of the year, so I hope you have some better luck soon with the flowers. In the mean time, enjoy those ones you've got!

Shakkai, I think if it does I will have better luck. They are inside now for the winter and the conditions are a lot more stable. Glad the pics helped.
