I received this in bloom/bud then immediately blasted them all. Spent a day or two with leaf spotting and loss. It reacts very fast to tweaking of its environment. But it also recovers just as fast when you get it right.

The glass enclosure top is open for a few hours every day.

That looks great! I "tweaked" mine yesterday, so hopefully it reacts liks your did. How bright are you growing yours?

I just imported a tiny one of these guys from ecuador, it's a little one with only two leaves (lost a couple in transit). It's now mounted in my terrarium with my monstrous lepanthes calodictyon - hopefully I can grow telipogoniflora to be just as nice!

It lives in my bathroom so gets household LEDs (450 lumens 3000k and 950 lumens 5000k) from the fixture. Very low and not ideal but I leave the light on for 12+ hours.

I've switched the household lights to LEDs but I can't find any in the 600-700 lumens range (reasonably priced). 2 x 450 is visually too low and 2 x 950 is scary bright for humans.

Ah yes, the Satellite dish orchid. I really like this one, but never got around to trying it out. Thanks for sharing.

This is the most rewarding orchid I have grown. I bought it 1 year ago today. When it came in, it had 5 leaves, one of which dropped. It now has about 36 spikes and I have gotten 7 open at the same time. It just flourishes. I grow it in a terrarium under a 2bulb, 2 foot T5 fixture. Mounted on tree fern. It does just fine next to the calodictyon I purchased a few months later.

I also have noticed it responds very quickly to changes in light levels. This is most obvious with the leaves showing purple pigment on the uppermost growths. This changes by moving the plant only by an inch in height from the lights. The pigentation has not affected the flower production.

I have a back-up plant from another source. Its not as perky as this one, very slow to grow.
