Chiloschista lunifera

An interesting one that just came with my new order... This one is normally leafless (though it sometimes has small, short-lived leaves - you can see one in the photo) and the roots do the photosynthesis!

Hi skakkai.
It's normal, that some Chiloschista have leafs. They loose them normally in winter at their natural habitat.

I haven't a vitrine. So I can't cultivate them. But I have a Campylocentrum ariza-juliae. It is also leafless but comes from Cuba/DomRep/Jamaica doesn't need such a high humidity.

Oh, cool!! That's another really cool orchid!

The lunifera is about to lose the leaf it has. But the new roots it has are such a pretty reddish colour. This one is going to look really different when it flowers.

Shannan, I know the thread is quite old already, but... where did you get this especies from?
