Oncidium Tsiku Marguerite
won this off the raffle table last OS meeting... I almost always win at least 1 plant..Too bad that doesnt work for lotto tickets...
very interesting flower..its just wants to hug you and I can see in large sprays these could be very impressive miniature flowers..A very tiny plant with 4 or 5 bulbs and 2 spikes with maybe 20 or 30 small buds.. raffle tables!!!

i cant really tell if it is or not..maybe after a few more flowers get going it might have some fragrance. I can smell something faintly sweet when I get around it but I dont think thats it. More of a fresh green orchid smell if you know what I mean. I found it takes a fragrant flower up to a few days of being opened with some morning sun and it starts to produce.
Very strange little morsel on the lip. I learned that the oncidium name came from the presence of the complicated callus on the lip.

Wow RJ you scored! That's a really cutie! I really like the delicate coloring on this.
Maybe you could rub the orchid for good luck with lottery tickets!

heh..thanks...I didn't much like it at 1st. the more buds that open the more intriguing the plant gets to my eyes. The flower is ALL lip if you look more closely. The whole lip structure from top to bottom is as large as the rest of the flower...just amazingly intricate these flowers are. I get lost in them around the house just looking. Sounds stupid huh?..You notice the smallest details and there is no end to the details an orchid flower can produce. All different, specialized for some purpose we are yet to discover.
Small things are usually all lip
