My thoughts are to not cut the keikis off. There's no need to. You can easily pull them off when they're ready. There should be no resistance whatsoever to their removal by hand when they are ready to be harvested.

Lol! Too late. I cut off the leaf stalk from where the keiki started and stuck it in the moss. There were already 2 roots so I am positive it should take...the mother plant is making another. Lol
When you cut the keiki they tend to produce more of them(keiki's).I always cut mine off quite simply because sometimes if you dont they can wither away if gone unnoticed.No you dont have to but I always do I am trying to propagate numerous plants not just manage one specimen or mother plant.
And they always take as long as there are roots if not dont even bother snipping.
