When you cut the keiki they tend to produce more of them(keiki's).I always cut mine off quite simply because sometimes if you dont they can wither away if gone unnoticed. No you dont have to but I always do I am trying to propagate numerous plants not just manage one specimen or mother plant.
And they always take as long as there are roots if not dont even bother snipping.

Is there a way to encourage the telipogoniflora to make those keikis? I really want to propogate that plant of mine.

I wish I knew the magical answer to that one my friend as they are my main focus in propagation.Stress seems to make them keiki.I have around 16 that I got off of two larger specimens over the course of a year. What I did was stop fertilizing and the stress seemed to trigger keiki's.There is no absolute proof quite simply may be coincidence.I do not recommend doing that to your mounted specimen as it seems to be quite happy if in fact it throws a few keik's then I would utilize those.

You know what's funny....I dont fertilize at all. Well I have tried once with 1/8th strength no urea bettergro fertilizer. But maybe once 8-12 months to be accurate. Quite simply the plant does it's own thing.

I use an extremely week msu type fertilizer every week.I just think that the constant blooms that some of my lepanthes throw have to be quite taxing on them so I do fertilize weekly. My teli's are done blooming they usually bloom for a month solid then throw more leaves then keiki's so I will have more keiki's soon.

Hmm...my teli doesn't stop blooming. Its always in bloom. I have been pretty worried as its leaf making is pretty rare. It does it in waves. Do u think the better-gro orchid fertilizer is good? its the no urea one.

It's quite normal for them to bloom successively from the same spike for quite a while.

Mine has three spikes, and they bloom whenever they're ready to bloom. Eventually the spikes will die back, but not after putting out a number of blooms per spike (I don't know how many flowers each spike will produce before the spike dies back).

It'll produce a few leaves here and there whenever it has the energy to do so.

I fertilize mine with a weaker concentration than I use for other orchids. These guys really don't need too much fertilizer. Fertilizing once every 2 weeks is good enough.

if u look carefully...there are over 15 flowers from the same spike. I tried once cutting them off...but it just makes a new spike.

It always worries me that it might flower itself to weakness. I guess I need to fertilize it then. I can't bear loosing my sweetheart.

It looks normal to me.

Fertilizing it will definitely help it along, but it's not necessary to overdo it too.

You think the better-gro orchid fert at a 1/4 package recommended strength is good for these plants? I prefer to fertilze on the weaker side as I have CPs in the tank and I dont' want to use too much fertilizer.
