Default Restrepia sanguirea "Walter"

Hello all!
I just attended my first Orchid society meeting on the weekend and purchased a few plants. This one (Restrepia sanguirea "Walter" from Marsh Hollow Orchids....) is giving me something to wonder about. Anywhere I look everyone says that it blooms for a long time however this one is shriveling up already. I got it on Sunday.

It has been cloudy for the whole time I have it, would that be the problem?

It is Restrepia sanguinea.

Nice clone. The flowers on mine last about a week but it blooms often.

Beautiful!!
Even if it's supposed to bloom a long time, you don't know how long it was in bloom before you got it, and the change in conditions between it's old home and yours might have upset it a bit.

Cloudiness will not affect how long a bloom stays open. Plants need light to grow and bloom, but once the blooms are there light has little effect on them (other than getting too much and burning!)

Gorgeous little flower.

Like Camille says, you don't know how long it's already been open and change in enviroment can also affect it.
