Dendrobium Laevifolium

I have a question for you both According to IOSPE PHOTOS this species should be deciduous and start new growths... hat is your experience so far with it?

I received my plant with 7 PBs in June this year, and since then, it is growing in Sphag (like the Neos) as I was told it needs a lot of water... somehow it really like it, as now I have 19 new growths... the problem is that they have started to grow now (October = Fall! not spring!) and the leave on the old PBs look like everything but deciduous...

I am supposed to reduce water and fertilzer, but since I have so many new growths now... no way... this little guy will continue on Summer-diet... what do you think?

has your D.laevifolium finally lost its leaves? I'm a litte bit worried as you, 'cause mine is 'evergreen' and still have new growths right now....

Claudia, it keeps growing and growing... It has indeed lost few leave, but nithing what would make me call it desciduous... it still has leave on all PBs... but I asked a friend ofmine who has several of them since years, and he said that actually many (if not most9 of his plant never loose that many leave.. so, I stopped worring

A friend of mine this evening told to me to keep it always wet, he says D. laevifolium doesn't survive to a poor irrigation...even in Winter

For what it's worth, my - I've had mine since just after last blooming season. Of course that means it hasn't bloomed for me yet, but it also never lost any leaves, and seems happiest on a little perch under the lights (T5's) right next to a rupicolous Laelia, where its leaves are turning purplish. As others have said, it loves water, and pouted when I tried to give it a winter rest. Has tons of new growths, nearly doubled in size. Hoping for flowers this spring!

same for me, lots of water, high humidity (it's now in the vivarium) and leave turned purplish... according to my friends that's all good for the plant
