Default Floral Candy

Mediocalcar versteegii is a small species from New Guinea with very brightly colored flowers:

For a picture of the plant in flower and a complete description see: Orchids in Bloom: Mediocalcar versteegii 'Mountainside'

Should have mentioned that the other species are equally brightly colored, orange and yellow, red and white, etc.

Super neat! Too bad you can't see what it's hiding inside- a real charmer.

Really cute!

There was a Mediocalcar on the project suggestion list this time and I was really tempted to get it anyway as a travelling companion. I think they are so neat and will definately try one of them at some point.
