That beautiful purplish tint that is common with some varieties just does not happen here in Florida during the warmer months. All you get with full sun is yellowish leaves. I believe it might have something to do with our high humidity and high night temps. It never gets below 70C from May to Oct. and every day is in the 90's. I will take your suggestion and give it a little more sun.

you have it so long its name changed...the plant is cute and has a darling of a bloom...when they bloom

Your plant is growing well and looks very healthy. Seeing these in-situ growing and blooming pretty much on top of rocks in parched earth doesnt surprise me that yours isnt bloomed.
Its too happy.

its cold in them thar hills at night..Might need some serious temp drops overnight ?

I have 3 rupicolous Laelias, briegeri, fournieri, and liliputana. Only had lili since june, fourn since 3/08 never bloomed, and briegeri bloomed once since 3/08. Briegeri was from Andy's in a 3" "little clay pot with granite chips and rocks" like Becca's.

Laelia fournieri is supposed to be the easiest to bloom. I would like to get one but can't find anyone who has them. Santa Barbara Orchids is "sold out." Maybe someone can give me a suggestion.

I will be leaving all of mine outside with the decidious dendrobiums this winter instead of growing them in the greenhouse.
