Just keep in mind Jerry that the rupiculous laelias object to re-potting so when you do you might want to use a larger portion of charcoal, lava rock, diatomite or the like so that the mix does not break down too quickly.

bump! I just got a batch of rupics including L. milleri--and i found it at Miranda Orchids. Great cross, it shows a parent and it is beautiful! My plant looks good and i can't wait for it to bloom!

hmm did this one ever bloom mister? Ive been reading about these rupiculous ones and I seem to have adopted a rupiculous method for most of my catts....

As you can see from the pictures, the plant has a new pot and a year and a half later still no flowers. The plant has grown very nicely though.

Jerry, perhaps it needs stronger lighting to bloom? It looks happy and healthy!

Becca, that seems logical but that is not the problem. It grows in an area of the deck where it gets full sun until about one c'clock. Thanks for the suggestion though. I think I will just continue to grow it without expectations and one day it might surprise me.

That is pretty good lighting, but I bet it could take stronger lighting! I don't see any purple/reddish colors on it! That is how I grow my Rupicolous Laelia's!
