Nice photo, Ron! Every time I see a picture of this, I am consumed with lust and longing. Even though I know it would languish and die here.
I wonder what kind of insect (besides myself) finds it so irresistible? It looks almost manufactured.

Thanks for posting this great macro. However, I would have never guessed it was an orchid, and if it were someone I didn't know posting it, I would have to google it.

Thanks Nancy and Sun for the kind words. Nancy, I grew this when we lived in Houston in a homemade orchidarium. The house's air conditioning in the summer was enough to keep it cool and we kept it in a spare bedroom where the window could be opened a crack in the winter.
