Default Cryptocentrum Standleyi

Hi all;

An interesting miniature flowered for me a week ago for the first time ,and I'd like to share the photo with you.
Its Cryptocentrum Standleyi (my determination),a tiny little "hedgehog" of a plant with interesting flowers.
The whole genus is interesting,being one of the few representatives of an almost totally old world family which includes the Angreacums,Aerangis etc.
This species has a "hidden" spur that is stuck under the ovary,and is not visible unless the flower is bent back.
Its from Ecuador,mid elevations (around 500meters).
Enjoy
Spiro

Interesting! The vegetative growth reminds me of a conifer branch. I've never heard of this one. Thanks for showing it to us.

Miniatures don't give you a whole lot to look at but they sure are the most interesting plants. Seeing your plant is a first time experience for me and I thank you for posting the picture. It has a very healthy appearance and the flower is, of course, very unique.
