I was just about to ask! What a beauty! Thanks for sharing! I can only hope mine will bloom someday!

Congratulations on flowering your plant. The flowers are so unique.

I am going to venture a guess and say that flowering might be triggered by temperatures and day length. And I would further guess that your cool nights might be responsible.

Our low night temps are about like your high days and I am lucky if I can get my plant to bloom in March or April

Thanks Molly,
I think it might be a little warm here for mine to bloom, although the plant is growing quite well.

Molly, I would like to ask, since you live in Fl. also, does your plant flower in the spring?

Hi Jerry,

Actually I live in Vermont, and bought this orchid in Utah where I was living. I got it in April with a spike forming. It traveled with me in my passenger seat for 5 days across the US, and then bloomed in May. I was afraid the buds would blast from the change in environment, but they didn't. Since the move it's been thriving. I'm not sure if it will bloom for me next spring or summer???

That's a great little plant. Congratulations!

Cheers.

Very nice, mine blossomed in February and so far nothing more with the exception of new leaves and roots. Maybe a spike soon.
