Pteroceras semiteretifolium (try to say it fast twice !)

This plant is smaller than it's name
Finally bloomed after several months with a spike that did not grow more than 2 millimeters (and died eventually), it decided to grow 2 new spikes properly this time, since I put it in a mini-terrarium (suspended in a glass vase with live sphagnum at the bottom), it loves the increased humidity! (as well as my Chiloschista and Schoenorchis in the same vase)

That is a mighty cute flower! Yes, the name sounds like a dinosaur fossil, and is a big name for a tiny plant.
These usually bloom in the fall here (deep south).
I like this one so much, I recently got a Pteroceras teres, which is quite different - much larger plant, with long inflorescences of tiny yellow flowers.
Cute, of course.

Humidity is usually the key for these little plants - especially mounts. Very nice plant.

Looking at my photo of this flower, it is not nearly so colorful; I wonder if it some 'alba' form?
When the buds first opened, I thought it looked like a miniaturized version of Peristeria elata.

Nancy, you know the growing conditions have a strong influence on the colors of the flowers for many orchids. I found that all the reddish colors are more intense when growing under strong light.
My Pteroceras is just 6 inches under 3 T5 HO tubes...

I'm thinking it must be genetic, because I grow outdoors in south Louisiana - not in full sun, but the light is strong and the heat is - ah - invigorating.
It is either making new growths or fixin' to bloom again, so I will see what shakes out.

Can you post a pic of it growing in a glass vase? I always have trouble with mounted plants, except bulbos.

This little rascal is blooming again, and my flowers are definitely less colorful than yours, skallima.
The flowers have a very nice scent.
