This very little plant is blooming in my orchidarium. The flowersize is about 0,1 cm. I'm sorry, but my Digicam is not good enough to make a better picture.
I bought it on an orchidshow in Dresden in March this year after a long talk with the seller about miniature orchids. The Company calls Orquideas del Valle.
Orquideas del Valle is a well known orchid vendor from Colombia. There are some species of orchids named after the owners, Andrea Niessen and Juan Carlos Uribe.
For example:
Dracula niesseniae
Lepanthes uribei
BTW that is a nice plant.
Too bad it's expensive to buy a macrolens to take nice photos of tiny flowers closeup.
Just one correction - it is Platystele ortiziana, named for Padre Ortiz, the singular expert on Colombian orchids. There is a similar species - P. beatricis - with even smaller flowers!
Andrea and Juan Carlos are wonderful people and doing so much good with their laboratory (I've been there).
