There are in-situ pics of how
Porpax spp. grow in the wild. They grow very moist during their growing season. Sometimes they grow on fallen trees with no moss whatsoever. Other times they are found on rocks with moss. Those rocks are limestone rocks.
They do go through a period of slightly drier conditions during the winter.
Since they are related to Eria, and I know many
Eria spp. tend to grow in rather bright indirect light, (found this out after having slightly more extensive experience and longer term success with Eria), Porpax might be the same. Please note that this is vastly different from the information I initially provided about the lighting requirements for Porpax, and that this is the most current train of thought on their lighting requirements.
They are most likely not true warm growers and may suffer from temperature ranges that keep them too warm. I believe that they are more intermediate growing, liking temperatures that are no warmer than 85 F.
And yes, there is only a tiny bit of information on the web about how to grow these orchids, (what you read on the OB is the most detailed information I could find, and that info was from me
). There is also very little habitat information for the orchids in this genus.
