Two new additions
I got these two at the London Orchid Show last weekend.
The first is Scaphosepalum swertifolia:
It is mounted on cork and currently has about 6 spikes (it appears to be sequential flowering) still with buds!
The second is a plant that I have wanted for quite a long time!! I saw a photo of it in a journal some time ago, and loved its quirky look! It seems it goes by various names, I knew it as Pleurothallis ornata, but this plant is labelled Pl. schiedei. It has been called Stelis ornata and various other things like Effusiella. Whatever you call it, I call it beautiful!
The little white fringe-y things sway in the slightest breeze!
Hope you enjoy!

Those are both absolutely gorgeous I adore the little fringes that the second one has, and the colours in the first one are lovely also, thank you for sharing them with us.

Very, very nice shakkai, both of these.
This second one has been on my wish list for a long time, usually see it listed as Pl schiedei or ornata also. I love this one. Glad you finally found it!
ENJOY!

Nice to see you again Shannan!
They are so so cute, but my favorite is the Scaphosepalum, the colors are beautiful. How was the show this year? Any pics of it?

Hi Camille! I can't stay away for too long. Though life has been too busy recently, I always miss this place and the people here if I don't make time to come here!
Here are some photos of the show:
LondonOrchidShow
The show didn't seem as packed as last year (neither vendors nor visitors) but there were some really nice plants for sale from places like Peruflora, Eucaflora, and this lady from Columbia where I got my Lepanthes

Love the Scaph -- they've always been among my favorites.
Kinda aggrevated -- have had Scaphs years back and bloomed them easily, later lost them. Got two new BS ones a year or so ago and just can't get them to bloom.

Paul, While mine has quite a few spike (which I hope to keep going!) there isn't any guarantee that I will be able to rebloom these! I did notice that the new growth had a slight bronze tint to it (indicating to me that it was getting a lot of light) so I have put it closer to the window than the others. Maybe it is light triggered?
