Hi Camille! I can't stay away for too long. Though life has been too busy recently, I always miss this place and the people here if I don't make time to come here!

Here are some photos of the show:
LondonOrchidShow

The show didn't seem as packed as last year (neither vendors nor visitors) but there were some really nice plants for sale from places like Peruflora, Eucaflora, and this lady from Columbia where I got my Lepanthes

Kinda aggrevated -- have had Scaphs years back and bloomed them easily, later lost them. Got two new BS ones a year or so ago and just can't get them to bloom.
Paul, While mine has quite a few spike (which I hope to keep going!) there isn't any guarantee that I will be able to rebloom these! I did notice that the new growth had a slight bronze tint to it (indicating to me that it was getting a lot of light) so I have put it closer to the window than the others. Maybe it is light triggered?

Pleurothallis scheidi or Pths ornata was my very first Pleuro, I loved it.
Thanks! Yes, I can easily see how someone could get seriously hooked on these little things if Pleurothallis schiedei was your first introduction to them!

I honestly don't know about the Scaph. This is my first Scaph, and when I looked up swertifolium there was a huge range of coloration to the flowers pictured. (Certainly the variety of colours shown just in OrchidWiz was huge.) It doesn't have any "var" listed on the tag.

I haven't yet looked up other species, so I don't know how variable the individual species are.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Sandy, I sure hope you find one soon! I spend way too much time looking at mine and gently blowing on the flowers to make the fringe flutter!! LOL!

Ross, Good to hear from you!! Both of these plants would be *very* happy in your tank!

Thanks again for looking everyone!

Ditto to what everyone else has said; absolutely wonderful blooms! I saw a Stelis (it was just labeled Stelis with a description of the flowers) for the first time on Saturday at the Orchidexpo show in Montreal, QC; it's incredible how small the things are! How are you caring for yours?

Hi Joseph! Being small is a plus point for me, as it means I can grow more of them in a relatively contained space. They are both mounted on cork slabs, in intermediate (or on the cool side of intermediate in the winter) temps, medium light (but no direct sun), and daily (or more often) misting - same as for my other mounted plants.
