Andy grows Lepanthes up the wazzoo in his intermediate shadehouse. It's kinda humid and damp in there though.

Hi Everyone

I setting up a 600 litre (150 gallon) fish tank with T5 lights and a humidifier to keep these orchids happy. It will also be cooled with a computer fan blowing over a radiator pumped with chilled water from an aquarium chiller. This is a temporary fix until my wardian case is made later this year.

Currently, I am running airconditioning and I am finalising the tanks general set up this week. I will post pics when I am done. I hope it all works as planned.

The orchids look fine. I am just struggling to keep them humid out of a tank. So they are sitting raised up in a a big glass bowl, water in the base. I mist them often. The only air movement is indirect from the aircond. Well, only another four days to get them into their new home

Brett

Nice flowers.. SE Asia is good a producing for the cut market.

I got some glass lids for my tank today. I places the radiator/fan (with no cooler yet) in the tank, blowing over a basin of water and I am getting 95% humidity without a humidifier... So I have move my minis into the tank and cranked up the aircond until I get the chiller to cool the water for the radiator.

Hi dsim

I think you mean the Psygmorchis Pusilla (formerly oncidium) and Ceratochilus Biglandousus. No issues getting them out of Singapore and Thai customs, well what can I say.... I was flying Tiger, and carrying the orchids in a shoe box. All got scanned in the X-ray and no one said a thing.

If you want these species, Contact Woon Leng orchid nursery at New Page 1

Hi everyone

I think I have got pods developing on one of the Ceratochilus and two of the Pygmorchis flowers that I pollinated. There is definite swelling and growth, where as the other blooms have withered and are falling. Fingers crossed they make it to flask if I am right and dont abort. I guess I will know in about 3 months.

Next the Lepanthes. I talked to Jean-Marc in France and he said he used a 40x magnfication glass.
