The almost round or half round leafed(semiteretifolium) winged horns (Pteroceras). Sometimes I love scientific names.
It looks cute, reminds me of Angraecum. What does the bloom look like?

I love the etymology of the names too... when you know a bit of latin "roots", you can imagine the plant without actually having seen a picture of it.

But for real , nothing's better than the web

The flower looks like this (photo from the french orchid society) :

I have this plant and my plant is having a similar "spike" too. But, the "spike" is growing very slowly. I am still wondering why

May I know if yours is growing very slowly too? Thanks

It is a lovely flower, and large for the size of the plant.
This plant seems to grow slowly, but the roots are aggressive.

I bought my 7 year old daughter one of them. She calls it Tiny. I had to take it away as she dropped it and broke its pot. It looks like its ok. It also has a tiny growth that I think may be a spike.
