Default Epidendrum porpax var 'Gold Country'

Have a few divisions of these guys, they ALL spiked this month . First the alba's bloomed then this one, hopefully the rest of the variations are coming soon.

This one is planted in a 2" net pot with only 2 2" growths. Its really amazing how small some blooming size plants can be.

My porpax grows with ease but I've never been able to get it to bloom. RSS, do you do anything special for yours (giving it cool rest, etc)?

I cut them up into little pieces .

No really I did.

They were repotted and every division bloomed within a week of each other. It was really odd. Every stem on every division bloomed once shortly after repotting.

Hi RSS,
Please pardon me for asking stupid question. "cut them up into little pieces" do u mean they will grow by cutting the stem without roots? Do you mind showing me how you do it? I'm interested to learn how to propagate them. thank you in advance

I was trying to be funny, guess I missed. Usually they will send out roots above the medium as they grow taller, so I just cut off the top with some roots and replant it. Even without some roots they do fine, you just need about 2"+ pieces. And with any division you need to watch its watering closely for about a month.
