Default Lepanthopsis astrophora 'Stalky'

The flowers on this one are really tiny. I haven't had this long enough to get a feel for where it should go.

Anyone growing it?

Not sure on the cross, thats just the name it came with.

Now that you mention it, I did contact Grow-in-Hydro, the swampstick guy, for a custom project. It won't be here for a few weeks but that would be a great home for it.

For those interested I've posted the pic he sent. So far everything has went perfectly with my dealing with Jesse. But thats for another thread.

Wow, a very cute plant! This species can make quite large clumps in the wild

Thanks, Ramon! I have never heard of this genus before. But being familiar with Lepanthes, thought it must be related. Ya learn something new every day when it comes to orchids. Thanks for the link, too!

Very very nice blooms. Sorry, no advice other than standard Pluero care.

Default Lepanthopsis astrophora 'Stalky'

Just to make sure things are clear. Lepanthopsis astrophora is not a hybrid but a species. The cultivar name, 'Stalky' was given in honor of G.C.K. Dunsterville, author of on many books and articles on the orchids of Venezuela. Both he and his father were nicknamed 'Stalky' and the father was the basis for Kipling's character in "Stalky and Company."
