Default Macroclinium confertum

Here is another of this grouping, the flower spike went a bad direction and made pictures a real challenge. Same as the last Macroclinium, I can't take any credit for this bloom it arrived in spike.

Each fan of the plant is about 1" X 1", the flowers are about 1/2" each and the cluster is about 1 1/2".

Yea I have a Macroclinium about 3" from 2 T5 lights (daylight/actinic bulbs) and it seems happy there. So these are definitely in the high light grouping.

The flowers of the two look about the same to me, and the plants will grow a little difference depending on the envoirment. But without both plants in front of me who knows .

The few of these I have all look different, leaves and flowers. So maybe its just the camera angles that make those leaves look different.

I ended up ordering the one from Andy's. . .the aurorae.

And I have to tell you, it's one of my top faves.

It wasn't in spike when I received it but very soon afterwards it put out a new spike and is now in full bloom. The little umbel is full of tiny, pendulous translucent flowers. The petals are delicate and more colorful than I expected. Really beautiful!

Photos to follow. . .
