Oh, no worries Waterdog. They will continue to make room for you... they're smart enough to know they need someone to feed and water them.

We have a really small home, too, and I tend to like plants that are not small...Citrus, figs, passiflora, etc. So, I determined a few years ago that the orchids need to be small. I have a couple in jars under lights on my coffee cart as there was a little room there. I have been putting metal hangers on all my pots so that they will hang this autumn. I have a bunch of mounted mini and small orchids and hang them on a plastic support I got with a tomato growing kit. I hang this on a hook next to the kitchen window. They take so little room that way and I can take down the entire thing and run it under the faucet.
Hope this gives you a few ideas.

Room
Right now there is two small fold out tables, next to one another in my living room. One has my drip 8 cup coffee maker on it along with about at least a dozen mostly minis. These all have lots of light from three sourses. My front porch I am working in progess on a green house. Its mostly built, except for the panes that I plan on making polycarbonate. If not some debre from my coastal oaks when the wind gets up would break them. Theres another dozen or so mostly full size orchids out there. It doesnt get vry much direct sun , just good shady light. Well thats most of it. My house doesnt get a lot of light from windows. So inside has to be mostly leds. Front porch gets in the 90s that why Im making the greenhouse, so I will be able to have some control as needed. It all keeps me busy. Ive been retired since 65 and this Aug. Im 75 so l needed something. And I love orchids. My first fragrent ones have blooms out there. They smell great!

Orchids keep your mind young - there is a lifetime of learning that one can pursue. And both the orchids and the science are continuing to evolve. And so many wonderful miniature ones.
(I have a big yard, some 30 years down the line... a few years before retirement, started with 1... am STILL out of room. Focusing mostly on the minis. There is always room for one more orchid )
