Here is another wonderful minature, Microterangis hildebrandtii, in bloom. It grows very well in sphag, wet and warm. The spike number and length seem to vary each year and I don't know what induces it to bloom.

I've only seen these mounted. Great little dwarf and super color.

This deserves going(coming) forward. I love beautiful minitures. My eyes not being what they was could have an influence.

thanks - unfortunately, this plant suddenly went downhill in a few weeks time and perished. Not sure what happened.

Sad indeed. I also had one, that did very well for several years - a root and flower machine. Then it expired. No idea why either...

Sure hate bringing up a bad experience, but such a beautiful plant. I am going to research to see if I can find farther info on it.

Hey, you win a few you lose a few. It IS a cute miniature, though not particularly colorful. (Hint... if you never kill an orchid, you aren't learning because you're not trying new things. Nobody bats 1.000)
