Got this at Natt's two weekends ago during the Chicagoland Orchid Festival. My really good friend (who owns not a single orchid, but does have dozens of large tropical plants) came with me and had offered to buy me an orchid for my birthday. Thought it was kind of funny to have her get me this one. Fortunately I had it written on my shopping list so did not have to try to pronounce it to the staff... Anyway, a guy who worked there chose the specific plant out for me (I think it may have been Natt) and I didn't even notice it had a spike on it until I got it home. The main part of the flower is about the size of a quarter. We'll see if I can ever get it to bloom again...
Nice photos. What are your growing conditions? You're unlikely to be able to grow it mounted in a typical home.
Thanks for the heads-up. It's in my terrarium which runs about 74 degrees and 85 percent humidity. It's watered daily, but dries within a couple of hours. Been learning a lot with my enclosure, and working on making purchases that will (hopefully) do well in there.
