Well, that is too cute to not ask about. So, you say it's growing on your patio - is it outside all year? Can you tell me all about it so I know whether I could accommodate its needs?
I also saw something on the internet that it's in the Epidendrum group - but also in another place its grouped with Pleurothallids. Well, that is a stretch - Which is correct?

It's outside all year. Highs occasionally into the 90s F, but generally lower, summer nights occasionally into the low 70s but usually more like high 60's. Winter lows usually in the low 40's but occasionally near frost for a few hours. Grows shady. It gets RO water. Stays pretty damp but being in a basket it drains well. It is from the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, so fairly high elevation.

Jay Pfahl (IOSPE) is the source for the taxonomic citation that I mentioned, so I think that Cattleya alliance is correct. And also fits with the appearance of the flowers - I suspect hummingbird-polinated. (small, tubular lip, no landing pad)

Thanks very much for the quick reply. Knowing that it can take your outdoor conditions, means it may be able to live in my tiny -cool-northern greenhouse. : -)

I think that it actually prefers cool... on another forum, someone mentioned having bought 2 at about the same time that I got mine, to experiment... one grown warm/intermediate, the other cool The warm one grew but no flowers, the cool one bloomed nicely.
