If they are the tropical species, then intermediate to warm (55 F - 90 F).
Constant, high humidity (80% - 100%).
Keep evenly moist, and do not dry out.
Grow in moderate shade.
Grows on limestone rocks with live moss on top in the wild.
Do a Google Images Search and you will pull up a lot of in-situ photos.
Tuberoids are super, super tiny and easy to get lost.
Once they are growing, do not pull out of the pot.
I recommend growing in a terrarium.
Or you may use a clear plastic deli cup with a few holes punched in and a wet paper towel on the bottom, then place the orchid into a small pot with the potting mix, and put the pot with the orchid in it into the deli cup. Close the deli cup with the lid.
They are not the easiest orchids to get to come back for following seasons.

Many thanks Philip. I am planning to try one outside, we have pretty good humidity in Miami, and than few inside, in different setups, one will be enclosed small terrarium, one in plastic cup, will see what will work the best! I hope I will be able to grow and bloom at least one! Thank you and have a Happy Easter:-)

:-) Yeah, but this one is really tough for me. My tubers did sprout, grew and than leave stayed on some for weeks on one for nearly two months, never bloomed. They went to sleep, now they are sprouting again, so we shall see if any luck this year with blooms -) |
