So a few things lol. I have a hard time leaving my plants the hell alone and can't ever make up my mind. One day I decided that this plant would display better in bloom if it was on a vertical mount as opposed to sitting upright in a pot so I mounted it on a plank with a ton of sphag that I keep moist. Just look at how well it's doing:



JK!!!!! I actually came across another plant for sale on ebay so I bought it and joined the two plants together to make a bigger plant.

The leafless pseudobulbs in the center are from the first plant which is working on its new growths nicely.



How well this mount will work, I'm not sure but I can't see it going wrong as long as I don't let it dry out too much which hasn't been a problem for me with that pile of sphag

You probably don't need that much moss... these actually do like to dry out. If the moss is only over the top of the roots, probably OK, moss between plant and mount tends to keep roots too wet and not let them attach.

Yes. Mounted, with little moss. It is partially deciduous... I don't avoid watering it in winter though, since it dries out fast that that seems to be enough.

I hadn't seen this thread before, what a cute little Den! And great, now I have another plant to add to my already long wishlist! This one goes near the top of the list because it's small.

If the weather wasn't so risky for shipping plants, I'd be desperately searching for one right now! We're headed for a week of below freezing weather, down to 8-10F and possibly over a foot of snow. It may be no biggie for most people in the US, but with climate change, this rarely happens any more here.

Big question that this thread hasn't answered. Can it be grown potted? I just can't do mounts...

I don't see any reason why it couldn't be grown potted, as long as it is given the opportunity to dry out. I'd be inclined toward a small terracotta pot, so that the roots also get some cooling. Thanks for the tips! So it looks like I can pot it the same way I'll be repotting my Leptotes bicolor once stores open and I can go buy tiny pots. I was also advised to go the terracotta route for the Leptotes (that is in spike now!!)

Edit: I found a vendor who has it! Schwerter in Germany has mature, potted plants, and now my credit card is burning a hole in my pocket... Come on spring!
