New shelves in my orchid window
This is a pretty modest setup but I thought I would share it. I have one large south-facing window, in my kitchen. Over the summer I kept my growing collection of orchids all over the house, but in the winter, this is really the only good place for them. So I added some shelving, and now I can fit 8 more orchids in this window area--ones that like a bit less light and a bit higher temperatures. So far so good!

Now, get some hangers and utilize the top half of your window!
Lovely scene outside.

Looks great. Echo the hanger suggestion.

What a great idea! Those shelves look like they have always been there.

Convenient to water too, with the sprayer right there by the sink. Looks good.

Thanks! Yes, that's the best part of this setup. The plants get decent humidity because they're in the kitchen right by the sink, and watering them is super-easy. Plus I look at them all the time so they don't get neglected. I have 4 orchids in a window upstairs and it's a little more of an effort to carry them downstairs and water them.
