Default Orchids and fish

Last October I bought a bunch of orchids and very slowly started building my display. I have 12 different orchids guppies and minnows.

pretty! A filter or a bubbler would help the fish out. Labyrinth fish might have been a better choice because they breathe from the surface (like a whale). You might also find you get algea. Some nerite snails might be on your wish list.

Thanks! The filtration, and heater are hidden in the waterfall I have the water return from the filter set up to give a fair amount of air exchange along with a nice current. When I was setting it up I tried to make it as natural looking as possible I’m very pleased with how it turned out. Here’s another picture that shows where I hid everything. I know that guppies are not really the best choice for my setup but I love the colours and how energetic they are. 😀

Really REALLY like this. I have numerous aquariums hanging around. Have been wanting to set one up similar to yours for quite some time. Somewhere I even have a Tetra Viquarium setup.

Thanks for posting yours. Just moved this higher on my priority list.

I initially bought my aquarium with the idea of turning it into an orchid terrarium. I had all kinds of trouble with this, and instead went to a regular (low light) 75 gallon tank. The fish are really just complimentary (providing "fertilizer"). What I really am attracted to is my collection of Bucephalandra and various anubias like the nano white kind.

Very cool, any updates on your setup? Have the plants established?
