Greetings All,
I've been moving and during the move many of my orchids are being generously given some greenhouse space by my friend and mentor Walter Off (Until my greenhouse is built sometime in April or May). I've been taking flowering plants in and out, keeping the Cymbidiums at home because they were just too tall for the space and I had some space here.
Anyway, I went to the Philly Flower Show and was walking around the Waldors exhibit when I suddenly found myself standing in front of one of my mounted plants.
WOW!! I was floored! At first I was too stunned to recognize it thinking, I didn't know they had a plant just like mine,
Then I started jumping up and down, telling everyone I could reach it was my plant. When I purchased it, it was named Encyclia polybulbon but there was a different name on it at the show. Maybe they found something on Wildcatt. Then I went around further and found another of my plants mounted on a bald cypress knee, Bulbophyllum purpureorachis.
That one wasn't flowering but when I saw Dave Off he said it just looked really cool. And he paid me a fantastic compliment by saying that no one there mounts plants as well as I do. OMG!!
All in all I came away from the Flower Show doing a
Blessings,
Randy
